Stage a pile or a trailer
Decide where it is going: a burn pile, a chipper spot, or a trailer for hauling. Working toward one staging point keeps you from double-handling material.
Grapple the loose brush first
Clamp and carry the down limbs and cut brush to your pile. The grapple grabs a big armful at a time, so clear the easy volume before you start on stumps.
Pry out stumps and roots
Work the grapple under the stump, rock it, and use the machine's breakout force to lift and pry the root ball free. For bigger stumps, dig around the roots first to loosen them.
Load out and rake clean
Load the debris onto a trailer or dump trailer, then backdrag the disturbed ground so the spot is clean and level, not a crater.
